Bean (Ceramic Sculpture)

Bean (Ceramic Sculpture)

“Bean” is the artist’s first explorations in hand-building ceramic sculptures, coming from a fine art and woodworking background. Its form was developed at Anderson Ranch during an Artist Residency, and iterated into its current version during the pandemic while the artist was practicing in Korea.

Korean Porcelain and celadon glaze was chosen as the material for its traditional timelessness and proximity to nature; Korean Ceramicists were originally inspired by the tint of freshly fallen snow to develop their celadon glaze hue.
