Locomotion Study

This photography series is a collaboration between Morgan Turner (Brown University PhD '21 Ecology and Evolutionary Biology) and Soo Joo (Rhode Island School of Design '19 Furniture Design) under an organization under Brown and RISD STEAM called DISCOVER.

In our respective fields, we both study motion tracking.

This series makes visible the line of motion of the hands and feet in motion during the humble human act of walking, or locomotion. The repetitiveness and uniformity of the tracked forms are surprising and beautiful.

Shot in Downtown Providence, Rhode Island.
